Rand Paul Thinks Richard Marx Is the Reason He’s Getting Suspicious Packages

A Kentucky senator has accused the singer and songwriter of "calling [people] with violence against me" over a tweet pointing to a time when Paul's neighbor broke his ribs over a lawn mower dispute Kentucky Senator Rand Paul is convinced that a tweet by singer-songwriter Richard Marx was the reason why he received a suspicious package at his home on Monday, May 24th. As Politico reported, Paul found an envelope at his home in Kentucky that contained an unknown white powder that was currently being tested for dangerous substances. Fox News then noted that the envelope contained a picture of Paul with a metal collar around his neck, on the side of his arm, and a walking stick with a sign that read, "I'll finish what your neighbor started, you mother of a child." The paper referred to a notorious incident in 2017 when Paul was attacked by his neighbor, Rene Boucher, on a charge of littering (Boucher finally pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 30 days in jail). While breaking ribs as a result of the grass care dispute is probably one of the most interesting and well-known things in Paul’s biography, he released a statement linking the secret pack directly to Marx’s tweet. Marx's erroneous twitter tweet came from Paul after he said he had no immediate plans to get a Covid-19 vaccine: "I would say again: If I ever met Rand Paul's neighbor I would hug him and buy him as many drinks as possible. ” In a statement, Paul said, “I take these threats very seriously. As a recurring theme of violence, it is ironic that Twitter allows C celebrities to promote violence against me and my family. This weekend Richard Marx called for violence against me and we now receive this powder book. ” Marx - best known for his eighties and early nineties playing songs such as "Hold on the Nights" and "Right Here Waiting," but also a celebrity critic of former politicians - has happily dismissed the allegations against him. "I'm the only person on Twitter who has ever pointed at Rand Paul's neighbor," he said in a single tweet. "It should have been me." In another tweet, Marx mentioned the issue of last March, at the beginning of the epidemic, when Paul was diagnosed with Covid-19 and possibly exposed some of his colleagues, saying, “You know who really is putting the lives of many people at risk. ? ”
